Ted Porter Architecture (TPA) works on a wide range of projects: new construction; renovations; additions to historic structures; and interior design. Dedicated firm members closely work together to serve the various requirements of our valued Clients. Recent projects include the renovation of a 1925 Brooklyn building for the headquarters of a philanthropic foundation; a compound consisting of a sound recording studio, year-round artists’ housing, and seasonal artists’ housing in Vermont; an artist’s facility in Los Angeles consisting of a studio building, a gallery building and courtyard gardens; a senior center for a New York City Housing Authority residential tower; and numerous homes and apartments within New York City and across the country.

TPA prefers to work on projects beginning with the schematic design – in close contact with the Client – and following through with comprehensive working drawings and specifications, pricing of the work with contractors, navigating the approvals process with local authorities, supervising the construction, and selecting the interior finishes and furnishings. The firm has successfully produced commercial, institutional, and residential projects that have benefited from a close working relationship between Client and Architect.
